...great racket from this club soul combo who were one of the top draws on the live circuit belting out great swaths of northern soul to enthusiastic crowds...these are the type of groups when they updated their sound in late '67/'68 formed the jazzy horn rock sector of what would become prog ...this way cool snootful of goodness comprises their singles from '65/'67, (including french only release), couple of demos and their side of the 'london swings' (1966) disk which was recorded at the marquee club...excellent compilation that gives off a great noise and takes a cat straight to sweat soaked cellars full of tickets doing the latest moves...dig especially tracks 10/11 as the rocking soul grooves mutate into freakbeat...first class all the way...

...a goodly dose of toytown / creamtea sike from this old club-soul revue who by 1967 had to change their repetoire to keep up with the ever new music that had landed in certain hep establishments...not as twee as some combos efforts in the psychpop playground due to the solid grounding in pounding out dance tuneage for the ever pilled feet of the mods...the horn embelishments certainly add some flavour to the strawberryjam / aliceinwonderland grooves...many happy and happening vibes are contained in these 14 tracks...
