sly and the family stone

..if ever a wax mirrored the times and place it certainly was this one...the crazy all night pig screaching sirens of amerikkka was submerged into the basement murk of this creepy crawl funk with its drumboxes, keyboards and droning tired vocal style all loping down dirty dark alleys...the war in 'nam that had been bought home by revolutionary forces such as the weather underground was reflected in slys disillusionment with hippy vibes that had been driven into the gutter by government drug-dealers peddling the worst gear to its own children because they wouldn't buy into a failed and corrupt dream lead him into his own self induced paranoia and vast intake of chemicals...the haze of teargas in the inner cities and on college campus, the napalm in the 'nam and agent orange in grunts systems was thrown up in the gloom and dark vibes that pervade this very singular biscuit (this is not the remastered version)...still needs to be heard as the planet plunges deeper into the mayhem of new world order...

...the rampant paranoia that was sweeping through amerikkka back in the turn of the seventies is reflected in the grooves of this LP with its murky subterranian vibe oozing out in all directions...it's creepy crawl funk lays down a slow post altamont doom-boom while the rhythm box clicks and ticks in monotonous slow driving lowrider fashion...inner city tension and bad drugs cover the tunes with tears gas and smoking pig weaponary...this is the remastered edition complete with extra thick paranoia fit for 21st century living...its like paying a visit to the twilight zone of the post hippy dream and finding it weren't a dream after all, it was real only the ideals of love and freedom have been corrupted to fit the new world order...this is sly warning the cats on the block that time was getting late and the prisons are getting built to house the outsider/individual...younger cats may want play this disk after checking out the 'easy rider' flick for a feel of vietnam on the homefront, the true state of uncle sams autocrazy madness...
